Diagnostic exome and genome sequencing data can be interrogated for clinically relevant variants other than those relevant for a diagnostic request. There are different opinions on the way to deal with these "incidental findings" in the clinic, on the potential benefits and risks to patients, on patient autonomy and on the obligation of laboratories to report these findings. These will be debated with representatives from both sides of the Atlantic. Moderator:
